The Historic Frye Building

342 Lincoln Street, Marlborough, MA 01752

This historic building offers 1 bedroom apartments, studios, and single rooms. Clean, comfortable, safe and within walking distance to downtown area shops, restaurants, and banks; makes this a home for many travelers from all over the world. The staff speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Starting in 2005, we began rehabilitating the Frye Building. New awnings and painted columns blanketing the corner of Lincoln Street and Mechanic Street are but a few of the projects that were done. Built in 1892, the building has a fascinating history and was originally employee housing for the Frye Boot Factory workers. It later became a YMCA !! Then, the Hotel Preston moved in and built a Grand Ballroom in the middle; with ornate fireplaces, detailed wood trim, and cathedral ceilings. Classic remnants reveal past lives – the ballroom parquet, skylights spanning 8 feet, ornate brass knobs and hinges. These trinkets of past lives blend well with the recent upgrades – new laundry rooms, bathrooms and kitchens, an ATM machine, along with full time maintenance and office staff.

Now, over 124 years after it was built, it has once again become, “The Frye Building”.
